Naturopathic Medicine is not just about taking supplements to treat your symptoms. At it's core, naturopathic medicine is about returning to harmony with the life-giving principles of nature in every part of your being.
Naturopathy focuses on identifying and removing the obstacles to being cured, so that true health can be restored. These obstacles can be on multiple levels of our being, including the body, environment, social structures, mental sphere, and spiritual life.
Education is an important part of this model, to empower individuals to take responsibility for their own health, with the doctor taking a supportive role.
Naturopathy combines elements from multiple types of medicine in order to give individualized and holistic treatment options.

Modalities We Use
Plants offer an extremely wide range of medicines, in many different forms, that can be used to treat almost anything. Herbs can be used individually, or combined synergistically, to support and nourish the body as well as address specific problem areas.
Nutrition is about fueling your body and mind in a way that supports health and wellbeing. What we put into our bodies is central to how well it feels and operates. When it comes to eating, making lifelong changes that support healing and prevention of disease, is preferential to short term "diets." There are key dietary principles that are foundational to maintaining good health. It is next to impossible to feel like your optimal self if you are filling your body with toxic and inflammatory foods.
Food Intolerance Assessments
A healthy diet is not a "one-size-fits-all" commodity. A naturopathic food intolerance assessment allows for individualized recommendations, and is an alternative to extensive elimination diets. Sometimes people have intolerances to foods that otherwise are considered healthy. It is important to know if you’re eating a food routinely that is potentially damaging your body.
Naturopathic food intolerance assessments can be included in other visits, or can be scheduled as a separate service. They are available by mail or in-person. See below for more info.
Supplementation is utilized to address known or possible nutritional deficiencies, which may arise from years of poor dietary health, depletion of soil nutrients, and modern lifestyles. Strategic supplementation may also be used to support weakened body systems, and a return to normal physiology.
Other Tools Utilized
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
You will be asked to fill out an extensive intake form, and your first visit will be over an hour. This allows to better understand the big picture of your health
A targeted naturopathic physical exam can provide extra information regarding the symptoms you are experiencing.
We recommend all our patients have a family doctor who they see for yearly checkups and screening and diagnostic labwork as needed. Please have all recent and relevant labwork faxed to the clinic prior to your appointment.
Specialty lab testing may be recommended if symptoms warrant or a diagnosis is unclear. This can include tests for hormones, heavy metals, toxic elements, gut dysbiosis, and organic acids.
Two people with the same condition may not need the same treatment.

We Focus on Treating Individuals, not Diseases
Naturopathy can be used as an approach in any situation or with any condition. It searches out root causes of illnesses no matter what the diagnosis is, and strives to bring health and vitality back into the body by establishing the foundations of health. You can expect an individualized approach to your condition and a treatment plan that focuses on underlying causes that may be contributing to your illness.
This limits the usefulness of having an exact list of what we treat. The following are some examples, but is far from exhaustive.
